If you were a hip-hop fan in the 1990s, then you likely remember the East Coast/West Coast hip-hop war between late rap legends Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G.
During their beef, Pac embarrassed his rival in the classic diss song “Hit Em Up,” claiming to have slept with Big’s wife/singer Faith Evans.
The singer has always denied that this ever happened, but did recall her run-in with Tupac during the time in a recent interview with Vlad TV, talking about recording the hook to his All Eyez On Me album cut, Wonda Why They Call U Bitch” … and his sexual advances toward her.
“I went to the studio and saw a lot of Death Row people. I played it off and played it cool, even though I didn’t think that was a good look, just because of the fact of the Suge and Puff situation,” she said. “In my mind and in my heart, I didn’t really know what I was walking into. That’s one time that being so headstrong, it didn’t serve me so well. It was definitely … a bad choice, but I didn’t know until then.”
Evans goes on to say that she was owed $25,000 from the recording session, and when she went to collect, she was asked to come to Tupac’s hotel room, where she claims he asked for oral sex.
“In a very surprising and offensive way, for sure,” she said when asked about it. “By that time, I think it was pretty clear to me that that was kind of like a plan. Like, ‘You’ve been got.’ I allowed myself to be played and get into this situation, because this is totally not how I operate. That ain’t how I do business and that was not up for discussion. I was in L.A. — and not going on the Bad Boy tour — to make my money. I’m very much about the coins.”
Whatever did or didn’t happen, Tupac would use it to his advantage to diss and humiliate Biggie, fanning the flames of their much-hyped war.
